Preface
Ok, I don’t remember how I came up with the idea for this story, but I really what to write it so here you go! The main characters are three kids named Kiya, Tora, and Arron. All three of these characters are children of your favorite Avatar the Last Airbender characters. The only thing is, they don’t know that. For their whole lives they have been growing up in an orphanage. Tora, is the daughter of Mai and Zuko. She has long dark brown hair and hazel eyes. She is a inexperienced firebender who loves the outdoors. Kiya, is the daughter of Katara and Aang. She, like Tora, has long dark brown hair. She also has an unique eye color, gray-purple. She doesn’t know that she is an Airbender. She is quite adventurous which sometimes gets her into trouble. Lastly, Arron is the son of Sokka and Toph. He has light brown, shaggy hair and green eyes. He loves to practice his earthbending, and is, like his father, a natural leader. Kiya and Arron don’t even know that they are related. The three of them are best friends and love to go on adventures and explorations. It doesn’t take long before the three friends find themselves on the greatest adventure of their lives…….

Chapter 1
“Shhh!” Tora whispered. “You don’t want her to hear us.”
“You shhh!” Arron whispered back. “I can’t believe you guys talked me into this! You-”
“Shut up! She’s coming.” Kiya snapped.
The three kids fell silent as the old woman who ran the orphanage came into the room.
“Now where did a put those keys?” the woman was mumbling to herself.
Kiya’s hands tightened around the keys in her hand. The three kids wanted to get into the locked room, in the back hallway. All the kids in the orphanage knew where the old woman kept her keys. It was just a matter of getting them.
Arron, Tora, and Kiya where hiding behind a large wooden chair in the back of the woman’s room. As the woman opened and closed draws and closets, looking for the very thing the kids had come for.
“If we get caught,” Arron whispered in her ear, “were gonna be doing chores for months.”
Kiya didn’t reply. She had her eyes fixed on the old woman.
“Must have put them in the kitchen.” the woman mumbled aloud.
Tora snickered quietly. “She likes to talk to herself.” she whispered.
“Look, she’s leaving!” Arron whispered.
Sure enough the old woman had left the room. “Lets go!” Kiya said motioning to open the window with her hand.
The three kids got up and dashed across the room and jumped out the one-story window. When they were on the other side they were able to sigh with relief. “We did it!” Kiya said happily as she high-fived Tora.
“Lets open the door and find our what’s inside!” Tora insisted excitedly.
“What do you think she keeps back there?” Arron wondered.
“Probably just junk and old knickknacks,” Kiya answered. “But, you never know.”
“Maybe there are files in there about our histories!” Arron suggested.
“I doubt it.” Tora muttered. “She said herself that she knows nothing about our past, just that someone found us and brought us in when we 1 year olds.”
Arron shrugged “You never know.”
“What are we just standing around here talking about it for!?” Kiya cut in, “Lets go find out!”
Kiya walked quietly down the back hallway, following Arron and with Tora behind her. The hall was dark and she had to squint to see. Suddenly the hall opened up and a dim light filtered in from a broken window. And there was the locked door just standing there innocently, just waiting for someone to open it and discover what was inside.
“Here, hand me the keys,” Arron whispered, holding out his hand. Kiya gave her friend the keys and watched anxiously as he put the first key in the keyhole and turned it. Nothing.
“Ok,” Tora said “It’s not that one. Try the next one.”
Arron tried the next key. Click. The door swung open.
The kids looked at each other with excitement, before quickly walking inside.
Tora lead the way into the room. It was even darker than the hallway. She made a ball of fire in her hand and held it out so she could see better.
It was a small room that was empty expect for a large desk on one side of the room and a dresser on the other. The entire room was covered in dust.
Tora walked up to the dresser. The top of it was cluttered with everything from old news paper clippings to empty bottles, half painted paintings and collectable dolls.
“This place is weird.” Arron whispered to her.
Tora nodded and looked up. Kiya had wandered over to the large desk. Walking over to her, Tora noticed that all that was one this desk was a bottle of ink, a paint brush and a piece of paper.
Written on the paper were the words-
“Dear Mr. Ray,
I am terribly sorry that I haven’t made my payment yet. More children are arriving at the orphanage every week. I’m having trouble paying for their needs, food and what not. Since your company has raised the taxes yet again, I kindly ask you to give me more time to complete my payment.
Ms. Carolwell”
Ms. Carolwell was the old woman who ran the orphanage. From what the letter said, she was having trouble paying for the care of the children and the taxes.
“WHAT IS GOING ON IN HERE?!?!” Ms. Carolwell’s voice erupted from behind them. Kiya dropped the paper and all three kids spun around. “This is my office! If you were allowed to come in here it wouldn’t be locked!”
“W-were sorry Ma’am.” The three said in unison.
“Now who’s idea was this?!?” Tora watched as Kiya stepped forward.
“It was mine Ma’am.”
“What is wrong with you child!?!?” Ms. Carolwell asked her. “All the other kids here seem to behave, but you can’t stay out of trouble!” Tora noticed Kiya flinch at the old woman’s words.
“It wasn’t just her fault!” Tora complained. “We all did it.”
“Well, since you want to share in the guilt too, you can all go without dinner and I expect you to be up early tomorrow morning doing all the others children’s chores!”
All three kids groaned.
“That’s what you get for misbehaving!” The old woman sneered. “Now get out of my office!”
Kiya sat awake in bed pondering the letter they found in the office. What was going to happen if Ms. Carolwell doesn’t pay the taxes in time?
Kiya peered over the edge of her bunk bed to where Tora was lying below her. “Are you still awake?”
Tora blinked open her eyes. “I am now.”
“Are you worried that Ms. Carolwell won’t pay the taxes in time?” Kiya asked anxiously.
“I don’t want to think about that.” Tora yawned. “It’s none of our business anyway.”
“I guess you right.” Kiya sighed. “Night.”
“Night.” Tora answered
Kiya tried not to think about it, but her thoughts kept drifting back to the letter…….
Chapter 3
Kiya found herself standing inside a narrow hallway. It was quite dark but she could see a light towards the end of the hallway and made her way toward it. As she reached the light she found a door, half closed. She peered inside. Three young women were inside. One with, long brown hair and blue eyes, was pacing back and forth nervously.
“Don’t you think they should have been back by now?”
“I’m sure they’re fine.” another woman, with green eyes and black hair replied.
“B-but…” the first woman began
“Relax Sugar queen! They are probably heading back right now.” the second insisted. “They told us to stay here with the children. The weather is too bad for us to risk taking them. You said it yourself.”
“But they shouldn’t be taking this long!”
Thunder crashed outside the house, making Kiya jump.
“Why don’t you check on the children?” The woman with long black hair on the other side of the room spoke for the first time. “It will take you’re mind off waiting for them.”
“Er….alright.” the woman turned hesitantly and walked towards where Kiya was standing. Kiya tried to jump out of the woman’s way but she just walked right through her. At that moment Kiya realized she was dreaming.
Kiya followed the woman slowly down the hall. She stopped at the end and turned into a small room. Squinting her eyes Kiya saw three cribs. The woman walked over to the first crib a looked down with loving eyes. Kiya walked over and looked in too. A young baby, not even a year old was fast asleep in the crib.
“Where are we?” a voice behind her made Kiya jump. Spinning around she saw Arron behind her.
“You scared me!” she complained.
Arron laughed “Sorry.”
“I’m not sure where we are,” Kiya sighed looking around. “But, I feel like I’ve been here before.”
“Me too.” another voice sounded. Both Arron and Kiya spun around this time, and there was Tora.
“This dream just keeps getting weirder and weirder.” Kiya thought aloud.
Kiya turned her head to look at the woman who had followed her in. At this time she had peered into all three of the cribs, and was leaving the room.
Arron and Tora were peering into the cribs too. Kiya walked over to them.
Suddenly Kiya felt the house shake around her.
“What’s going on?!?” Tora screamed
Kiya wanted to find out but her dream was slowly fading away……..
Kiya opened her eyes and found herself back at the orphanage, on her bunk bed. She looked over the edge of the bunk and out the window. The sun was rising. Kiya wanted to go back to sleep but remembered that she had chores today and climbed out of bed. Tora was just getting up.
“Uh…I had the strangest dream last night. You were there and so was Arron!” Tora exclaimed.
“What? I was? What was your dream about?” Kiya asked immediately interested.
“We were in this house, and It was stormy. There were three women there, with their kids. They were waiting for someone….Why are you looking at me like that?”
“Because I had that same dream! What do you think was shaking the house?”
“Who knows?” Tora shrugged “I just wish I could have stayed longer to find out.”
“Me too. Hey! Maybe Arron had the dream too!” Kiya said brightly.
Tora laughed “If anyone can decode a dream he can.”
Chapter 4
“So what do you think it was about? Who were they waiting for?” Kiya asked Arron excitedly “And why did it all seem so familiar?”
“It was probably nothing.” he replied biting into a piece of sausage, and beginning to chew.
Kiya looked away in disgust. She was a vegetarian.
“What do you mean?” Tora complained from across the table. “We all had the same dream it has to mean something!”
“Look. It was dream. It wasn’t real, so why does it matter if we all had it?” Arron asked with his mouthful.
Kiya rolled her eyes. “You’re missing the point.” she snapped “We all had the same dream! Don’t you think we should find out what its about?”
“You’re over reacting.” Arron complained. “I’m sure it’s nothing.”
Kiya looked over at Tora and gave her friend a hopeless look. Once Arron made up his mind there was no changing it.
“I guess we should get to our chores then.” Tora said standing up from the table where they had been eating breakfast.
“I guess so.” Kiya sighed.
It was the late afternoon and Arron was just finishing up his chores, when their was a knock on the orphanage door.
“I’ll get it!” he called and dashed away from the sink where he had been cleaning dishes.
Arron opened the door. A large man was standing there, he looked down at Arron and asked, “Is there a Ms. Carolwell here?”
“Yes.. I’ll get her.” Arron dashed through a doorway and made a quick right turn. He was sprinting now, down a large hallway. He stopped dead, in front of the back door and called out “TORA! KIYA!”
The two girls appeared almost immediately. Their hands where cover in dirt and they were holding shovels. It was clear that they had been given the job of planting the variety of strange plants that Ms. Carolwell kept in the back garden.
“There is a man at the door. He’s a tax collector, I saw his badge.”
Tora and Kiya stared at their friend with horror on their faces.
“If we go up on the balcony, we can hear what he’s saying! You guys go, I’ll meet you there.”
The two girls nodded and dashed passed him. Arron turned and ran up a flight of stairs. Ms. Carolwell was at the top, in her usual spot. A small chair, with a piece of cloth and a sewing needle in her hand.
“Ms. Carolwell,” Arron said as calmly as he could “There is a man at the door who would like to speak with you.”
“Well, I wonder who that could be?” Ms. Carolwell said walking down the stairs. As Ms. Carolwell turned right, to walk towards the door, he turned left, to walk towards the balcony.
Kiya watched as Ms. Carolwell walked up to the door. The man at the door held out a badge. “Hello Ma’am. I’ve come to collect your payment.”
Arron suddenly appeared at Kiya’s side.
“Did I miss anything?” he asked
“Not yet.” she replied
“Well,” Ms. Carolwell began handing out the a sheet of paper. “If you would kindly give this letter to your boss…”
“No Ma’am.” the collector said. “You either give the money or you lose the building.”
“But what will become of the children?!?!” The old woman croaked.
“That is not our concern Ma’am. Now, do you have the money?”
“N-no.” the old woman looked down defeated.
The tax collector shook his head. He pulled out a notebook and quickly wrote something down on a piece of paper. “I will return tomorrow morning, you have until then to get everyone out of the building. Good day.” the tax collector turned and walked a away from the door.
Kiya stared at her friends in horror, before rushing down from the balcony to find Ms. Carolwell.
“Ms. Carolwell,” she began.
“Get out!” the old woman screamed.
“But-”
“Just get out!”
Kiya sighed softly before motioning to her friends who were watching from around the corner and walking towards the door.
“I can’t believe we got kicked out!” Arron was yelling as the three kids began setting up their temporary camp.
“Well, look on the bright side, we don’t have to do chores anymore.” Tora suggested
“I wish we could just have a normal life.” Kiya whispered
“What do you mean?” Tora asked
“We’ve been living in a orphanage all our lives. We have no idea who our parents are…..they might not even be alive still! Why can’t we just have a normal life like everyone else in the world?”
Arron had to admit she did have a point. “We, we just have to keep moving. Something will happen.”
He heard Kiya curse under her breath. “Well, I’m going to practice my earthbending.” He told them.
Tora sighed “I guess I’ll practice my firebending.”
“And I guess I’ll stay here and wait while you two go have fun.” Kiya said angrily
She is just upset because she can’t bend. Kiya always seemed to be left out when he and Tora used their bending
Arron sighed. It wasn’t going to be easy from now on.
Kiya found herself in the small room from her last dream. Arron and Tora were at her side and the house was shaking. Kiya struggled to maintain her balance. She heard screams from down the hallway.
“What’s going on?!?” Tora screamed.
“I don’t know, lets get out of here!” Arron shouted.
As the three kids bolted from the room, Kiya almost hesitated. As if part of her wanted to stay in the room.
Kiya could only run after her friends. They dashed down the hallway and through the door into the room where the three women were. Kiya stared through the large window on the other side of the room in shock. A huge spiral of air was spinning towards the house.
“Tornado!” One of the women screamed. The kids screamed as it hit the house. Pieces of wood flew wildly in the air. A huge piece of the wall flew out and crashed into Kiya.
As it hit her everything went black. As her dream faded away Kiya heard the women screaming.
“We have to get to the children!” a voice called
“There’s no time.” another screamed
“We have to get out of here and find Sokka, Aang, and Zuko.” a third added
“No! We have to save them!” the first insisted “I’m not leaving my daughter here! I won‘t………..”
Kiya jerked awake. She found herself lying on the forest floor, in the makeshift camp. What a terrifying dream!
“KIYA!” she heard Tora yelling. “DID YOU HAVE IT?!??!”
“What?”
“THE DREAM! DID YOU HAVE IT TOO?” Tora was bouncing up and down.
“Yes, if you mean the one about the tornado.” Kiya replied
“See Arron, this has to mean something!”
Arron nodded. “I guess so.”
“But what?” Kiya asked standing up. “That’s the question.”
Chapter 6
Kiya, Tora, and Arron were sitting around their small fire that Tora made, and were using to cook with.
“Well who were they waiting for?” Tora asked
“Three people, Sokka, Aang, and Zuko.” Arron answered.
“Isn’t the firelord named Zuko?” Kiya asked.
“That’s right!” Tora gasped “And the avatar is named Aang!”
“Well what about Sokka?” Arron asked.
“Isn’t he the general from the southern water tribe?” Kiya asked. “You know, the one that lead the famous battle and helped end the war?”
“Why would we have a dream about such famous people?” Tora whispered.
“I don’t know.” Kiya yawned “I’m going to take a walk. I need to clear my head.”
Kiya stretched her arms as she walked through the forest. Why would I have a dream about such famous people? I’m just a 12 year old orphan.
Suddenly, Kiya found herself falling over a log. She hadn’t been watching where she was going. Without thinking Kiya pushed her arms out in front of her. Air flooded around her hands and pushed her back onto her feet.
What just happened? Did I do that?
Pushing her arm out in front of her, she tried again, but nothing happened. Confused she repeated this time thinking about exactly what she wanted to happen. Once again, air flashed out around her hand.
Kiya gasped. No way, this isn’t happening. Kiya decided she would try on more time to make sure she wasn’t going insane. It worked.
“No way….” Kiya whispered. I’m airbending!
“TORA! ARRON!” Tora spun around as she heard Kiya calling her.
“What?!” Arron asked as Kiya sprinted over to them.
Kiya began jumping up and down. “I was out in the when I tripped over this log. And I-I AIRBENDED!”
Tora stared at her friend in confusion. “What? Slow down!”
“Look!” Kiya pushed her arm out in front of her and a blast of air shot out at Tora, who was barley able to jump out of the way.
“YOU’RE AN AIRBENDER!” Arron gasped.
“But, how is this possible?” Tora asked. “Everyone knows the only living airbender is Avatar Aang.”
“W-what if…” Kiya whispered
“What?” Tora asked.
“What if that’s why the dream had to do with him. What if we’re related?!?” Kiya gasped.
“I don’t know….” Arron began.
Tora gasped. “WHAT IF WE WERE THE KIDS IN THE DREAM?!”
Arron and Kiya looked confused.
“Maybe…..it was us. Maybe that’s how we were separated from our parents. In the tornado.” Tora explained
“Wait are you saying you think those women were are mothers?” Kiya asked.
“That would explain why it was so familiar…..” Arron trailed off.
“We have to find them!” Kiya insisted
“Are you crazy?” Arron asked. “What if we go all that way and find out that we aren’t related to them at all?!”
“Either way, I’m an airbender. If what you guys said is true, and Avatar Aang is the last living airbender….” Kiya whispered.
“He’s the only one who can teach you.” Tora finished.
Warriors/Avatar-
Jaypaw’s View)
“Jaypaw!” A voice called. “Get up!”
“Wha-?” Jaypaw yawned lifting his head up.
He recognized who the cat was now. It was his sister, Hollypaw.
“Come on you’ve been sleeping the day away! Its already Sunhigh! Leafpool says you can come with me and Lionpaw on patrol as long as you bring back some horsetail and catnip for the Greencough cats.”
“Alright.” Jaypaw meowed raising to his paws.
-------------
Lionpaw, Hollypaw, and Jaypaw followed Ashfur through the trees.
“Can you smell anything?” Ashfur tested his apprentice.
“Mouse, fox- but its stale, and a cat! I don’t know that smell. Its not from either of the four clans!” Lionpaw mewed.
“Over there!” Jaypaw flicked with his tail.
“I want you all to stay here.” Ashfur meowed.
“What?!?!” Hollypaw complained.
“We want to case off the intruder!” Jaypaw meowed hopefully.
“Fine, but you have to do as I say!” Ashfur meowed.
“Why is he acting so weird?” Hollypaw muttered to Jaypaw.
“I think he realizes that the cat is no threat. it’s a she-cat and is around our age.” Jaypaw meowed in reply.
“I keep forgetting your keen sense of smell Jaypaw.” Hollypaw meowed as they followed Ashfur through the trees.”
“We are getting close!” Jaypaw mewed in a whisper.
------
(Hollypaw’s View)
Ashfur disappeared into the bracken ahead of them. A couple scents later she heard a cry and a thud.
“Come on! Lets see what’s happening!”
(Aang’s View)
A sharp claw prodded Aang in the side.
“Ummm….please wake up.” A soft voice called.
He blinked open his eyes. In front of him stood a brown kitten and a black kitten.
“He’s finally waking up!” The brown kitten meowed excitedly.
Taking cats? Am I dreaming?
“Good now you can chat it up with him.” The gray kitten meowed. His tail twitching with annoyance.
“Don’t be so rude!” The brown kitten meowed. “Hi!” She said turning to Aang. “My name is Heatherpaw and this grumpy lot here is Breezepaw.”
“Where am I?” Aang meowed. Wait I’m meowing! I’m a cat too!
“Your in the medicine cat’s den.” Heatherpaw meowed. “In Windclan.”
“We found you passed out in the middle of our territory.” Breezepaw added.
“I-I don’t remember how I got here.” He said looking around. What about everyone else? Are they cats too?
“Was anyone else with me when you found me?” Aang asked.
“Nope.” Breezepaw meowed.
“What’s your name?” Heatherpaw asked curiously.
“Aang.”
“That’s a weird name. Your defiantly not a clan cat and you don’t smell like a kittypet either.”
Clan cat? Kittypet?
“You lost me.” Aang mewed crocking his head.
“Wow do you know anything?” Breezepaw meowed.
“Well you see there are four clans…..”
(Aang’s view)
“So you guys really meet in truce every full moon?” Aang asked.
“Yeah!” Harepaw meowed.
If only the four nations could hold a truce once and a while.
A dark gray cat walked up to where Aang was sitting with his two new friends Heatherpaw and Harepaw.
“Err.. Aang is it?” She asked.
“Yes.” he meowed
“I’m Ashfoot the Windclan Deputy. Our leader, Onestar would like to speak to you now.”
Aang got up and follow Ashfoot across the clearing. The Windclan camp was well protected. It was surrounded by large boulders and heather. Harepaw had said that the heather kept the winds that blew across the near-by lake from hitting the camp.
“This is the leader’s den.” Ashfoot meowed. “He will be waiting inside.”
Aang walked into the den. A thin but muscular cat looked up as he entered.
“Umm…you wanted to see me?” Aang asked.
“Yes.” The tom meowed. “You say you can’t remember how you got here?”
“Yes…”
“Do you have any where to go?”
No! Aang thought sadly. He didn’t know anything about where he was or how to change back into a human.
“Well…no..”
“Would you like to join Windclan?”
Aang never would have guessed that the Windclan leader would ask him this.
“I…I don’t know what to say….” Aang began.
“You see, Windclan has so few apprentices and warriors. And Riverclan, keeps taking more and more of our land away from us. Thunderclan, our only allies have their paws busy with Shadowclan. We could really use a young cat like you in our clan.”
“Well If you accept me, of course I’ll join Windclan.”
------
“Onestar is letting you join Windclan?!” Heatherpaw asked.
“Yes!” Aang meowed.
“ He says he is holding the naming ceremony at Sunset.” Harepaw chimed in.
“Awesome!” Heatherpaw meowed happily.
---------
Sunset arrived. It was a beautiful evening. One Aang would never forget.
Onestar emerged from his den and called the clan in for a meeting. “We all know that there are so few apprentices in training. It is time that we let a new cat enter our clan and train.”
“Onestar!” A voice from the crowed piped up. “What about Morningflower’s kits?”
“It will be moons before they are old enough to train.” Onestar answered we need warriors now.” He beckoned Aang out of the crowd with his tail.
“From this moment forth, until he has received his warrior name this apprentice will be known as Arrowpaw for his unique pelt. Welcome to Windclan Arrowpaw.”
“Owlwhisker, you are a brave young warrior. You will mentor Arrowpaw. I expect that you with teach him everything you know.”
The light brown tom walked over to Aang and touched his nose to Aang’s.
I’m going to help this clan. I’m going to be a loyal Windclan cat no matter how long I’m stuck like this. Aang vowed. No matter what.
(Jaypaw’s view)
“Get off me! Get off me!” The she-cat cried.
“Who are you?” Ashfur meowed.
“Toph Befhong! Now would you please get your grubby little cat
paws off of me?” she meowed pushing Ashfur away and standing up. “Where are you?” she asked.
“Don’t you mean “where am I?” Jaypaw questioned.
“NO! I mean where are you!?” she-hissed. “I’m blind!”
“Small world.” Jaypaw meowed.
----
(Arrowpaw’s view)
Arrowpaw had been training with Owlwhisker for almost 2 whole moons. He had grown lean and was the most fit of all the apprentices.
Arrowpaw was curled up in the apprentice’s den when he heard a crash. Breezepaw and Harepaw where running around the camp screaming. “Riverclan are attacking! On the border! Hurry!” Arrowpaw launched himself out of the den. How dare Riverclan!
------
Arrowpaw was flinging himself at the Riverclan warriors. A black tom slashed his across the muzzle. Arrowpaw let out a hiss and clawed at the tom’s ear. Suddenly something crashed into Arrowpaw, sending him flying. Arrowpaw landed with a thud and quickly got up to face his attacker. A gray she-cat. She was a fit Riverclan apprentice. Arrowpaw let out a battle-cry and flung himself at the she-cat. She dodged his blow and grabbed his shoulders with her paws. Arrowpaw did the same to her. They were locked in battle. Arrowpaw stared into his attackers eyes. A bright blue. Where had he seen them before……? Suddenly Arrowpaw realized who he was fighting. He quickly sheathed his claws. The she-cat knocked him to the ground and put one paw on his neck…….
Chapter 5
---------
(Arrowpaw’s view)
Arrowpaw stared up into his attacker’s eyes.
She’s gonna kill me!
The she-cat leaned down, mouth open. Realizing that If he didn’t do something fast he would be dead, Arrowpaw unsheathed his hind claws. Then, he battered the she-cat in the stomach.
The she-cat let out a cry and stumbled away from him. Arrowpaw saw the Riverclan medicine cat rush over to her and help her to her paws. As the she-cat followed Mothwing out of the battle she didn’t stop staring at Arrowpaw.
Great, I just made the one person I care about most my mortal enemy. Arrowpaw thought to himself.

Chapter 6
--------
(Arrowpaw’s view)
Arrowpaw opened his eyes and yawned. It had been almost half a moon since the battle with Riverclan. The place on his back where Katara had crashed into him still hurt badly. Getting to his paws he padded outside the den. It was a full moon which meant there would be a gathering tomorrow. He yawned and looked around. The camp was deserted….or was it?
“Heatherpaw?”
The she-cat jumped with a start. She had been walking out of the camp.
“Err….hey Arrowpaw…” Heatherpaw meowed.
“Where are you going?”
“Umm….nowhere?” she meowed panic in her eyes.
“Right.” Arrowpaw meowed.
“Can you keep a secret? You have to promise not to tell anyone.”
“I won’t.”
“Ok, I have this friend in Thunderclan. We’ve been meeting in this secret place…..”
“And you were going to see him?”
“Yes….do you want to come?” she asked suddenly.
Arrowpaw thought about this.
“No thanks, I don’t want to be tired for tomorrow.” He meowed.
“Oh yes, I forgot you’re going to the gathering.” She meowed. “See you tomorrow!” She meowed before bounding off.
----------
Breezepaw and Arrowpaw followed their clan down towards the lake. Onestar was in the lead, Ashfoot not far behind. After them was Crowfeather, Owlwhisker, and Tornear. In the back of the crowd was Barkface and Kestrelpaw. Nightshade, Whitetail, Weaselfur, Harepaw, and Heatherpaw where staying at camp.
“Do you think Onestar will say anything about Riverclan?” Breezepaw whispered.
“I hope so.” Arrowpaw whispered back. “Everyone knows that Riverclan would steal the fur off your back if you aren’t looking.”
“I wonder if Ivypaw will be at the gathering.” Breezepaw muttered.
Arrowpaw remembered meeting Breezepaw’s friend from Shadowclan at his first gathering. Suddenly he wondered if Katara would be there. He hoped so, he really wanted to speak to her. He was almost positive that their rivalry would end once she found out who he was.
Windclan crossed the log onto the Island in silence. When they got to the other side Onestar turned to speak to his clan.
“No one say a word about the battle with Riverclan. I’ll handle that myself.” he meowed.
“Looks like Onestar’s going to say something after all.” Breezepaw whispered.
As the group slit up Arrowpaw looked around. He spotted a group of Thunderclan cats he met at the last gathering and trotted over. The golden tabby in the back off the group heard him coming and turned to greet him. “Hey Arrowpaw!” he meowed.
“Hello Lionpaw.” Arrowpaw meowed in greeting.
“How is the prey running in Windclan?” he asked
“Fine, and in Thunderclan?”
“Great. Hey is Heatherpaw here?” he meowed hopefully.
“Nah, she stayed back at camp.”
Lionpaw looked disappointed.
“So what’s new?” Arrowpaw asked changing the subject.
“Have you met Emeraldpaw?”
“No, where is she?”
“Over here.” Lionpaw meowed getting to his paws.
Arrowpaw followed Lionpaw over to where two cats were sitting. One he recognized as Jaypaw, the blind Thunderclan medicine cat apprentice. The other cat he decided must be Emeraldpaw.
“Hey guys.” Lionpaw meowed coming over to them.
“Is that Arrowpaw with you?” Jaypaw asked scenting the air.
“Yep.” Arrowpaw meowed.
“Emeraldpaw, this is Arrowpaw from Windclan.”
“Where is he?” she said looking up.
Arrowpaw stared down in shock. That he knew that voice!
“TOPH?!?!?”
“TWINKLETOES?” Emeraldpaw gasped.
“It is you!” Arrowpaw meowed excitedly.
“Have you seen anyone else?” she asked.
“Katara, in Riverclan….”
“Did you say something to her?”
“It’s kind of hard to say anything when someone has you pinned down on a battle field.”
“So she doesn’t know who you are?”
“Nope.”
“Ok, ok…” Emeraldpaw mewed. “Maybe Zuko’s here!”
“That would make sense! Air in Windclan, Water in Riverclan, Earth in Thunderclan, and Fire in Shadowclan!”
“Can I ask something?” Lionpaw meowed suddenly. “What in Starclan’s name are you two going on about?”
“Lionpaw! You can help! I want you to find all the names of the Shadowclan and Riverclan apprentices.” Arrowpaw meowed.
“Why? This is insane!” Lionpaw meowed.
“Please!” Emeraldpaw meowed.
“Ok, Ok fine!”
-------
Lionpaw returned shortly. “Ok he meowed the Riverclan apprentices are Willowpaw, Minnowpaw, Pouncepaw, Pebblepaw, Smoothpaw, and Glacierpaw. The Shadowclan apprentices are Ivypaw, Owlpaw, and Scarpaw.”
“Ok…now we should….” Arrowpaw began.
Suddenly a loud meow sounded from the tree where the leaders sat. Arrowpaw sighed. Finding his friends was going to have to wait until the next gathering. He curled his tail around his paws and began to listen to the leaders.
Blackstar sat up on the branch. “Shadowclan will speak first. All is well in our clan. We are happy to announce that one of are apprentices, chased fox out of all clan territory the other day.” His gaze turned to a black cat in front of Arrowpaw. When he turned his head in nervously away from the eyes that were now staring at him, Arrowpaw was able to see a long slash going through Scarpaw’s left eye.
“That’s him.” Arrowpaw whispered to Emeraldpaw.
“Who?”
“Zuko is Scarpaw.”
Emeraldpaw nodded silently and waited to for the next leader to speak.
“Thunderclan will go next.” Firestar mewed standing up on the branch. “We have little to report. We are strong and the prey is running well.” Firestar sat back down and looked expectantly at Onestar and Leopardstar. Onestar stood up and began to speak.
This will be interesting Arrowpaw thought to himself.
“Windclan’s territory is being taken away be Riverclan….”
Yowls of protest coming from Riverclan warriors came from the crowd. When the cries died down Onestar continued.
“Windclan is quite capable of defending its borders he continued. But one of our apprentices, Harepaw, was so badly injured that he couldn’t train for almost a quarter-moon. We are kindly asking that Riverclan leave our borders alone.”
Leopardstar stepped forward. “Riverclan is suffering from the drought. It has been a warm new-leaf and there is little water on are territory. No water, means no fish. You must let us extend our borders.”
Arrowpaw joined in the yowls of protest coming from the Windclan warriors.
“Make us!” Crowfeather hissed unsheathing his claws.
The Riverclan deputy Mistyfoot was ready to attack any warrior that came her way. Hackles raised and teeth bared.
“STOP AT ONCE!” Blackstar hissed. “Are you forgetting the truce?”
“Starclan is angry!” a meow rose from the crowd.
“Look at the sky!” called another.
Arrowpaw looked up and sure enough a cloud was covering the moon.
“The gathering is over!” Firestar meowed leaping out of the tree.
“Looks like I’ve got to go.” Emeraldpaw whispered.
“Try to come to the next gathering!” Arrowpaw meowed.
“I’ll try.” she called back.
(Arrowpaw’s view)
It was late at night and Arrowpaw and Nightshade were guarding the camp entrance. Usually only one cat guarded the entrance, but with the chance of Riverclan attacking so great they had to be extra careful.
“How long do you think the drought will last?” Arrowpaw asked.
“Hopefully soon. I want my kits to be born into a safe clan.” Nightshade meowed.
Arrowpaw remembered that she was expecting kits, but wasn’t quite ready to move into the nursery. Arrowpaw nodded silently. Suddenly a crackling noise came from outside the camp.
“What was that?” Arrowpaw mewed jumping up.
“I-I don’t know but I’m gonna take a look. Stay here.” Nightshade padded out through the camp entrance. A couple moments later she dashed back in.
“RIVERCLAN ARE ATTACKING! WAKE EVERYONE UP!”
Arrowpaw spun around and dashed to the apprentices den.
“WAKE UP! WAKE UP! RIVERCLAN ARE ATTACKING!” he didn’t wait for them to reply before running back out. Nightshade had already woken the warriors. Onestar! I have to get Onestar!
Arrowpaw sped over to the leaders den. “ONESTAR! RIVERCLAN ARE ATTACKING THE CAMP HURRY!”
When Arrowpaw returned everyone was up, they were wide eyed and anxious, staring at the entrance. Suddenly the Riverclan warriors crashed through the entrance. Arrowpaw flung himself at the nearest Riverclan apprentice. Arrowpaw managed to grab hold of the cat’s tail. He yanked it the apprentice let out a cry. He spun around and clawed at Arrowpaw’s ear. Arrowpaw hissed and pushed the cat to the ground. The apprentice scrambled to his feet. Arrowpaw didn’t waste anytime before raking his claws across the apprentice’s muzzle. Suddenly Arrowpaw felt his paws slip out from under him. He turned his head to see the gray she-cat who had almost killed him the last battle.
“Leave my brother alone!” she hissed.
I’m fighting Sokka?
Suddenly Arrowpaw saw a fury of brown her slam into Katara. Katara went flying. Arrowpaw watched as Katara crashed against a nearby bolder. Arrowpaw turned and saw Heatherpaw.
“It looked like you needed some help.” she mewed.
“Errr…thanks…”
Arrowpaw felt something hit his back. Swiveling his head around he saw that Sokka had gotten back up and was attacking him.
“This is for hurting my sister!” he snarled and raked his claw across Arrowpaw’s back.
Arrowpaw slammed his head into Sokka’s shoulder. Sokka let out a cry a stumbled backwards only to get attacked by Heatherpaw. Realizing he was out numbered Sokka turned and fled from the two Windclan apprentices.
“FIRE!” Arrowpaw heard someone yell. “THE CAMP’S ON FIRE!”
What? Not know of all times!
Onestar leapt up onto a bolder. “Everyone needs to get out!” he yowled the camp is on fire!”
The Riverclan and Windclan cats began racing out of the camp.
“Help the Elders!” Owlwhisker yowled.
“Grab the kits!” Crowfeather cried.
Arrowpaw saw a kit scrambling around in the panic of the cats around him. “Mother?” He was calling. “Mother where are you?”
Arrowpaw scrambled forward and grabbed the kit by the scruff of the neck and headed for the camp entrance. The cats were gathering on top of a nearby hill. Arrowpaw dashed up the hill. He looked around before he spotted who he was looking for. He ran over to Gorsetail and dropped the kit at her feet.
“Starclan bless you Arrowpaw!” she meowed dipping here head in thanks.
Suddenly Arrowpaw heard a desperate cry coming from the Riverclan cats. “PLEASE LEOPARDSTAR! MY SISTER IS STILL IN THERE!” Arrowpaw turned to look. Sokka was begging the Riverclan leader to send some in to get Katara.
“Its to dangerous to go back in! We will have to wait until the fire dies down.”
She’ll be killed!
Without hesitating Arrowpaw sped down the hill toward the flaming camp. The front entrance was up in flame.
The back entrance!
Arrowpaw dashed around the side of the camp. The back entrance wasn’t blocked yet. He dashed inside.
-------
(Glacierpaw’s view)
Glacierpaw panicked.
What do I do??? She thought desperately. Fire and smoke surrounding her.
“Help!” she yowled. She tried to move forward but pain shot up her leg where it had crashed into the bolder. I can’t walk! I’m going to die!
She curled up in a ball and waited for Starclan to come.
------
“KATARA! KATARA! KATARA!” A claw poked her in the side.
Opening her eyes Glacierpaw saw the Windclan apprentice that had been fighting Smoothpaw.
“KATARA!” he meowed desperately.
Glacierpaw took a breath and inhaled the smoke that was now surrounding her. She choked. Gasping for breath.
“We need to get you out of here!” he screamed.
“H-how do you know my n-name?” Glacierpaw managed to choke out.
“Katara! Its me, Aang!” the apprentice mewed, panic in his eyes.
“A-Aang?” Glacierpaw whispered.
“Yes, now come on we need to get out of here! Can you walk?” he meowed.
“N-no”
“Here, lean against me shoulder.” Aang meowed.
Glacierpaw did as he said. Slowly they began working their way out of the camp.
“Oh no!” Aang yowled.
“W-what?” Glacierpaw meowed
“The back entrance is blocked!”
“H-how do we get out?”
“The medicine cat den! Barkface has an exit in case he ever needed to get the sick cats out in a hurry.”
They made their to the back corner of the camp.
Oh Aang! I hope you know what you’re doing!
Arrowpaw’s View)
Arrowpaw coughed as the smoke around him and Katara became overwhelming. His eyes began to water and his breathing worsened. We have to get out of here! They made their way to the medicine cats den.
“Come on!” he encouraged Katara, who was limping badly. “We’re almost there.”
As when they got to the medicine cat den, they found it completely blocked. The vines that had protected the entrance were up in flames, preventing them from entering.
This is bad! There’s no other way out!
“A-Aang,” Katara mewed “How are we going to g-get out?”
“Well, If you weren’t injured we could have jumped over the wall, where its smallest, over there….”
“Then you go.” she whispered
“I’m not going to leave you here!” he gasped.
“B-but, we’ll….” Katara’s voice trailed off.
“No, we won’t.” he meowed
Arrowpaw flicked his tail to where a small stream passed through the camp. “That’s the safest place to go.”
“Y-you mean were going to have to stay here?” she meowed in shock
“Unless you can jump that wall…”
“Then I’ll have to try.”
(Glacierpaw’s view)
Glacierpaw stared up the wall. It seemed like such a long jump to make with an injured leg. You can do this! She thought to herself.
Aang leapt from the ground to the top of the wall with ease. He stood at the top tittering on the edge. “Ok. Jump as highs as you can. I’ll catch you.”
“What if I don’t jump high enough!”
“Don’t worry, I’ll catch you I promise.” Aang promised.
Glacierpaw felt her paws tingle with fear. He’ll catch me. Glacierpaw told her self. Aang will catch me.
Taking a deep breath Glacierpaw launched herself upwards. I’m not gonna make it! Suddenly Aang reached down and grabbed the scruff of her neck in his teeth, hauling her up.
Glacierpaw let out a sigh of pure relief. When she was up next to Aang on the wall he smiled softy and meowed. “I told you I’d catch you.”
Chapter 10
“Emeraldpaw!” Emeraldpaw twitched and woke up.
She took in a deep breath, remembering where she was, the apprentices den in Thunderclan. Although however, she wasn’t training to be a warrior. It was almost impossible for a blind cat to survive in the woods, let alone fight and defend a clan. Emeraldpaw spent most of her time helping the medicine cats or hunting with her friends, either way, Firestar said that she was a great help to Thunderclan just like any other cat.
“What is it Jaypaw?” she asked recognizing her best friend’s voice.
“There has been a fire on Windclan territory. Both Riverclan and Windclan cats have been injured. Barkface needs help with the wounded cats.”
“You want me to come?” Emeraldpaw asked in surprise.
“Leafpool said that you would be a big help.”
Emeraldpaw nodded nervously, her thoughts immediately slipping to Katara and Aang. “Did you say cats from both the clans were injured?”
“Yes, there was a battle in the camp when the fire started. We sent Honeypaw to get Littlecloud’s help too.
“It’s that bad!?!?!”
“I guess,” Jaypaw meowed “Now come on we have to hurry!”
XXXXX
Emeraldpaw bounded up the slope following Leafpool and Barkface. They stopped at the top. At first she wondered why, but then she remembered that they were waiting for Littlecloud. It wasn’t long before she heard him coming. She smelled Honeypaw’s familiar sent as well as Littlecloud’s (who she had met at the last gathering), and someone else’s.
“Good job Honeypaw.” Leafpool commented “Go back to camp and get some rest.”
“Thanks Leafpool!” Honeypaw panted.
Littlecloud’s pelt brushed up against Emeraldpaw’s as he passed by. “Hello.” he meowed quickly. “I brought one of Shadowclan’s apprentices with me. I figured we could use the help, this is Scarpaw.”
Zuko!
The group was moving again now. Emeraldpaw dashed forward to walk beside him. “Urr…Hey listen….Scarpaw….this is really important.”
She felt the Shadowclan apprentice stop, so she did as well. She could feel his questioning stare burning into her fur. As she struggled to search for words, she could tell Scarpaw was getting impatient.
“What?” he asked
“Err….ummm…..”
“Well?” he questioned
“…..”
“Spit it out already!” he hissed
“Were you always a cat?” she asked quickly
“What kind of a question is that!?!” he hissed “Of course I have!”
“You’re lying! I can tell!” Emeraldpaw chuckled
“Ok…well then what could I have been?”
“I don’t know…..a twoleg, a prince maybe?” she asked
“….Have I met you before?!?!” he asked shocked
“Perhaps,” Emeraldpaw teased him now “Perhaps not…”
“WAIT! I KNOW YOU! YOU’RE THAT EARTHBENDER!!! Th…. TOPH!”
Emeraldpaw smiled “Hello Zuko. Long time no see.”
XXXX
“Stay still Sugar Queen!” Emeraldpaw hissed “You’re only going to make your leg worse!”
“Well it stings!” Glacierpaw hissed.
Emeraldpaw chuckled to herself and continued applying marigold to the wound on the Riverclan apprentice’s leg.
“Is she going to be ok?” Arrowpaw asked nervously
“If she stays out of training for a while, she should be fine.” Emeraldpaw meowed
She heard Arrowpaw let out a sigh of relief.
“Heads up! You better scram Arrowpaw, Sokka’s coming.” Glacierpaw whispered. “He won’t like it if he’s sees me hanging out with a Windclan cat.
“All right,” Arrowpaw meowed sounding rather disappointed. “But when will I get to see you again? You won’t be able to go the next gathering.”
“Meet me on the border during the half moon and we’ll talk about it ok?” Glacierpaw answered.
“Ok.” Arrowpaw meowed and bounded away.
When Sokka came over to them, Emeraldpaw decided that it wouldn’t be the best idea to just come out and tell Sokka who she was. She just stayed silent while he checked on his sister.
“Hey Glacierpaw!” He purred “Are you ok!?! How did you get out!?!”
“A Windclan cat helped me get out.”
Emeraldpaw felt his fur bristle.
“Why would a Windclan cat do that?” Emeraldpaw couldn’t believe the amount of disgust in his voice.
“Not all Windclan cats are that bad.” Glacierpaw complained
“Whatever.” Sokka purred, “I’m just glad your safe.”
“Thanks Smoothpaw.” Glacierpaw meowed.
Smoothpaw…..hmm….that fits him well.
Chapter 11
The black tom inched slowly towards the mouse in the dense brush. Step by step he advanced towards it. He was about to pounce on it was something jumped out of the bushes at him.
“BOO!” a tabby she-cat yowled.
The black tom jumped back in surprise “Tigerpaw!” he complained “I had almost caught that mouse!”
“Oh come on Scarpaw lighten up! You know I scared you!” the she-cat meowed happily
“I guess so.” Scarpaw sighed.
Tigerpaw licked her paw and drew it over her ear. “So, are you going to the gathering?”
“Yes.” he said blankly
“I can’t wait to see my friend Harepaw again. He’s a Windclan apprentice. How about you? Do you have any friends in other clans.”
Scarpaw shifted uncomfortable with all her random questions “Sort of.”
Tigerpaw must have realized he was getting annoyed and she changed the subject. “Do you think we will attack Thunderclan soon?”
“I hope not.” he answered gravely
“Why not? We need the territory?” She asked puzzled.
“Umm..I….I don’t think we should mess with Thunderclan that’s all.” he muttered. He wasn’t going to tell her about his friends in Thunderclan and Windclan. He could careless about Riverclan though. That water tribe peasant was irritating.
Tigerpaw shrugged “Whatever. Well, got to run I promised Dawnpaw and Flamepaw that we I’d help them patrol the Thunderclan border in search of places for us to attack!” The she-cat bounded off quickly.
Scarpaw sighed and continued to hunt.
XXXXXXXX
Glacierpaw couldn’t help but laugh.
“Hey it’s not that funny.”
“Yes it is you look like a total idiot.” she cried with laughter
Smoothpaw managed to pull himself out of the thorn bush that he was stuck in. His fur was mangled and covered in sharp thorns.
“Aw man! This will take forever to pull out!” he complained
Glacierpaw forced herself to stop laughing. “Ok-ok….” She let out a small giggle. “You should probably go see Mothwing or Willowpaw to help you get those out.”
“Fine.” Smoothpaw began to walk away “Hey aren’t you coming?” he looked at his sister who wasn’t following him.
“Yeah….well I’ve got stuff to do…yeah that’s it….stuff” she stuttered
Smoothpaw crocked his head “Yeah….right…”
“Ok! Gotta go! Bye!” Glacierpaw dashed away as fast as she could. She kept running all the way to the edge of Riverclan territory.
There she stopped to rest. It was almost sunset and the warm green-leaf breeze ruffled her gray-blue fur. She found a small bolder and jumped on top of it. From here she could see quite far into the Windclan territory ahead of her. She waited patiently, hoping to see a familiar white and gray shape on the horizon.
It had been quite a while before Arrowpaw finally showed up. He bounded over to her. It had always fascinated Glacierpaw how Windclan cats could run so fast.
“You’re late!” she called “What took you so long?”
“Sorry, I had to patrol the Thunderclan border with Owlwhisker.”
Glacierpaw jumped down and gave him a affectionate nudge. “It’s ok. Not like I have anything else to do. My leg is keeping me from training.”
“I’m sure you’ll be back to training soon enough. I saw Toph and the Thunderclan medicine cats on the border a while ago. She told me to tell you that she said hi.”
“How does she know we’re meeting?” Glacierpaw gasped
“That’s what I asked her. She said that she just knew.” he shrugged.
“No one heard her say that right?”
“Well she referred to you as “Sugar Queen” so even if they did, they wouldn’t know what we were talking about.”
Glacierpaw chuckled “What would we do without Toph’s nicknames?”
Arrowpaw sighed “Well I wish I could stay but I promised Owlwhisker I would be on time for battle training.”
“Ok. Tomorrow? Same time?” she asked
Arrowpaw smiled “Wouldn’t miss it.”
“No.”
“Please?”
“No.”
“Please?”
“For the last time no!”
“As the Avatar, I command you to.”
“Why do you need to learn how to catch a fish anyway?” Glacierpaw meowed in annoyance.
“Because I do.” Arrowpaw mewed simply.
Glacierpaw stared at him and rolled her eyes.
“Oh come on.” He meowed. “I’ll teach you how to catch a rabbit if you show me how to catch a fish.”
“Ok.” She sighed giving in. “Come on.” She led him across the border where they had been standing into Riverclan territory. She padded over to the nearby river and sat beside it. He sat do beside her, an eager look on his face. “Alright she meowed to him, first thing’s first. Don’t let your shadow fall on the water, sit up straight and put your paw out like this.”
Arrowpaw watched her carefully, copying her pose.
“Now when you see one coming, flash out you’re paw like this.” As she said this she flashed out her paw. A gray fish went soaring into the air. She quickly bounded over and killed it.
“See?” she asked him “Now you try.”
Arrowpaw gave a nervous nod. He began to do as his friend had instructed. When someone came bounding out of the bushes.
“I KNEW IT!” They yowled.
Arrowpaw let out a yelp of fright, lost his balance, and went tumbling into the river.
“ARROWPAW!” Glacierpaw screamed in horror. The water was quite rough, and Windclan cats weren’t as good at swimming as Riverclan cats were. She was about to jump into the river to help him when the cat dashed over to her.
“KATARA! WHAT ARE YOU CRAZY!” he meowed addressing her by her human name. “Meeting a Windclan cat on our territory and teaching him to fish?! What are you insane!?”
“Smoothpaw!” She meowed franticly scanning the water’s surface as she spoke. “We can talk about this later, right now I have to help my friend!”
“NO!” Smoothpaw hissed. “I WANT TO KNOW WHATS GOING ON NOW!”
“Smoothpaw! He’s going to drown!”
“I DON’T CARE! HE’S A WINDCLAN CAT. WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU EVER WANT TO HELP A WINDCLAN CAT!? LET ALONE MEET HIM ON RIVERCLAN TERRITORY!”
Glacierpaw looked down at her paws. “Because I love him.” She whispered.
“WHAT!?” Smoothpaw hissed
Glacierpaw wasn’t listening. She was jumping into the river. Hold on Aang! I’m coming!
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Arrowpaw flashed his paws franticly in the water. Trying desperately to get his head above the surface. A wave came down crashing over his head.
Starclan help me!
He trashed his hide legs in the water, terrified to lose sight of the shore. Another wave came. This one pulled him under. It sent him crashing down to the bottom of the river, banging his head against a rock. Despite his pain he pushed him self back up to the surface, and found to his dismay, that he couldn’t see the shore.
What do I do!? I can’t die out here!
Suddenly he felt something grasp hold of his neck. He turned and saw Glacierpaw doing her best to pull him towards the shore.
Thank Starclan!
“Relax.” His friend meowed through a mouthful of fur.
He did as she told him. Before long she hauled him out of the water.
Too weak to move, he just lay on the river bank in exhaustion. “Thanks Katara.” He meowed weakly.
“Ok, don’t move.” Arrowpaw looked up. Smoothpaw had bounded over to him.
Like I was gonna move anyway.
“I want to know why you and my sister where meeting on the borders.”
Arrowpaw didn’t care that this was Sokka. He didn’t like the way he talked about his clan mates or the way he talked to him. At this point he wasn’t talking to Sokka. He was talking to any other Riverclan warrior and he wasn’t about to tell Sokka who he was.
“Because she’s my best friend and I care about her.” He hissed.
Sokka seemed to ignore him. “I BET YOU’RE A SPY!”
“What!?” Arrowpaw gasped. “Windclan cats don’t spy!”
“Maybe,” Smoothpaw hissed “But they obviously don’t care about border’s either!”
“SOKKA!” Glacierpaw hissed “Leave him alone!”
“THEN GET HIM OFF OF ARE TERRIOTORY! OR I’LL MAKE HIM LEAVE!” Smoothpaw hissed unsheathing his claws.
Arrowpaw winced and struggled to his feet. “Its ok.” he muttered “I’m leaving.”
Glacierpaw gasped. “What!? NO! Don’t listen to him you should stay and rest a bit.”
Arrowpaw longed to spend more time with her, but he knew that Smoothpaw wouldn’t like it.
“Its ok.” he meowed again “I’m fine.”
“Alright. I’ll go with you to the edge of the territory.” Glacierpaw meowed.
“No you won’t.” her brother said assertively
“Yes I will!” She hissed back “Come on Arrowpaw.” She bounded off
